Inner Birdsong𓅪 enables users to access the mental state of birds. Using the browser as a space for interactive birdwatching, the work explores the spontaneity of the natural world through a subversive use of machine learning algorithms. Using humor as a critical lens to explore notions of bias and surveillance, the work aims to mirror the way we scrutinize ourselves and others in our hyperconnected world.

By challenging our understanding of perception through play, the project encourages visitors to uncover and interpret the subtleties of our surroundings, prompting a critical reflection on the act of projection—and how we impose our own mental states onto others, often misinterpreting true experiences.
